OUR HISTORY
The Prospect District Cricket Club was created in 1928 from the amalgamation of the Prospect Cricket Club (est. 1880) and the North Adelaide Cricket Club (est. 1867), deciding to establish our headquarters at Prospect Oval.
The Club’s first Captain was Clarence “Nip” Pellew, a former Test cricketer who played 10 test for Australia from 1920 to 1921.
The Club boasts a proud history of success, having won nine A Grade Premierships and produced over 50 South Australian cricketers and 16 international players. Notable names include Sir Garfield Sobers, Ashley Mallett, Terry Jenner, Barry Richards, Barrie Robran, Andrew Zesers, Greg Blewett, and, more recently, Nathan Lyon and Joe Root.
Prospect District Cricket Club has always been based at Prospect Oval and has a close association with the North Adelaide Football Club, the Prospect RSL and the local Prospect City Council.
Currently, the club comprises of over 150 players in 11 teams; seven of the teams are made up of junior players and many families from the local Prospect Council area.
